Louis J Decosmo
How long have you been in the game?

16 years

What's your greatest accomplishment so far in life?

Greatest ...mmhhhmmmm that's a tough one I guess I would have to say dealing with myself being being blind and not letting me get down and just striving at my goals and just doing what I need to do in life to stay on top.

Tell me a little bit about yourself:
I am a 30 yr old single father in nyc right now am signed to one of new yorks major labels for a chance of a lifetime to find there next new artist or producer. This is a op that not many people get a chance to have in there lifetime it is great to be respected enough for a major label like ruff ryders to look at me as someone to hit the global market for their next new artist.

Interest(s)?

Music, producing, clubbing, concerts, and just making people feel good

What's your ultimate goal in life?

It is to just know i am happy with how things are going along and being respected by others

What do you like most about being in the business?

There are so many good things to name one is hard but I would have to say the impact you leave on people's lives is the best thing I would have to say.

What's the thought process behind your works?

I am always just listening day to day seeing what goes with what and how I think a track is gonna effect a dance floor. There are just certain tracks when a floor is packed that you know the crowd wil go nuts. It is the best feeling to hear them scream and the energy you get off of it.

What inspires and motivates you?

My kids and family

No matter what anyone tells you or how hard it gets even if the last phone call or e mail was the last contact you had. Just keep going for it never give up on what you dream for cause once you have it is the best thing ever and those that said you couldn't do it wil be right there to try and be apart of your dreams. I wish anyone the best luck in following what they love.

Thanks for adding more significance to Why Blue Matters

WBM Features: Kathy Martinez

A life is not important except in the impact it has on other lives.
-Jackie Robinson

Quite confident in what she wants out of life and the impact she plans to have on the lives of others in the process is aspiring actress/model Kathy Martinez from New York. Though currently studying to perfect her craft in arts and entertainment, Kathy has mindset of a veteran, while at the same time as eager as someone hungry for more knowledge and experience.

It takes vision, it takes poise, determination and most importantly a wilingness to make an impact in the world. Kathy is more than ready to do so.

Let's take a moment to get up close and personal with her.

[As Told To Why Blue Matters]

What do you like most about being an actress?

What I like most about being an actress is being able to express myself and others. Naturally, I am a shy person. Very timid and cautious of who I associate myself with and converse with. Being shy does not mean that I do not have a lot to say. Acting allows me the opportunity to step out my box and comfort zone. It allows me to roam freely into my deepest of emotions. Most importantly, it allows me to enter into thoughts and lives of others with out intrusion. I was invited.

What inspires you?

Martin Lawrence inspires me. I think that he is the epitome of a comedic genius, excellence, and success. Martin Lawrence makes me want to do better. I won’t stop until I become just like him in successful measurements. I grew up watching Martin Lawrence. I remember when I was a child me and my family would gather around our small television to watch him. He made me and my family happy. That is what I want to do, make people happy and encourage them to forget about their problems. My second inspiration comes from my desire to represent darker skin Latinos in a positive light. In Latino television there are little to none representation of Latinos on television. When you do see a dark skin Latino, many of the roles they play are servants and slaves. I will be the exception and others who come after me and will be the exception too. They will be able to play a leading role in a successful Latino pilot.

How Long have you been able to balance what you do?

I’ve been able to manage both school and acting since the age seventeen. Since the age seventeen, I made the conscious decision to pursue acting professionally. I didn’t myself doing anything else as a career besides acting. Shortly after this decision, I also made the decision to enroll myself at a four year institution (college). I want to be a trained actress and respected as an intellectual. Thus far, I have been doing a pretty good job. I am in my third year of college pursuing an education in Mass Communications.

Where do you see yourself five years from now?

I see myself as a paid and professional actress. The professional aspect has been here all along. Conquering both Broadway and box offices. I also see myself working with children, which is another passion of mine. I think it’s important to instill good morals and good manners into our children. If we want out children to do honorable things, we must do honorable things.

Any future projects?

At this moment, I am looking to venture into modeling as well as beauty pageants. I enjoy modeling but I never thought I had the means to pursue modeling as a career. I want to compete in beauty pageants because it was always something I wanted to do as a child. I’ve always wanted to be a beauty queen. My mom never let compete in beauty pagents but it never stopped my desire to want to compete in them. Competing and winning beauty pageants is a personal goal of mine. When I do win, I want to use my platform a means to empower children in any way I can. Last but not least, I want to obtain my PHD. I like the sound of Dr. Martinez.

What type of impact would you like to have?

I want to have a big and everlasting impact on the lives of others. I want others to remember me as a professional actress who gave her time and efforts to improving and helping out our children. I also want people to know, if I can do it, they can do it. I’m in college, they can go to college. I am an actress, they can also be an actress. If you want to be a doctor, then become a doctor, a lawyer, a judge, a professor etc. Remember, with time and efforts anything is possible. I did not get where I am by sitting on my butt all day watching time go by. I did my homework! Do yours. It is not easy and it’s still not. Although, I have impacted the lives of the children in my church, I still feel I have not done enough. In my eyes, there is still more to come from me. I have not realized my full potential but believe me, I will.

Any advice for those who want to pursue their acting aspirations?

This advice is not only for aspiring actors and actresses but for all goal getters. I would say do your research and I can’t stress this statement enough. I would also say find a mentor in your field. I have mentors and they have helped me a lot in terms of guidance. There are many things that many adolescents and adults should not have to experience or know about. You can learn from your mistakes and achievements of others.

For More On Ms. Kathy Martinez:

WBM Features: George Reefah

Happiness is different from pleasure. Happiness has something do with struggling, enduring and accomplishing.
-Unknown Author

The U.S is finally getting a taste of what Canada has to offer. Born in Toronto George Reefah mixes an old school vibe with a taste of futuristic beats. He gives you flawless flows and gives you that direct delivery to feel what he is talking about. It takes true talent to make the struggle to succeed seem effortless. Take a minute and get to know someone you soon will be hearing a lot about.

Let me introduce ya'll to George Reefah currently residing in NY.

[As Told To Why Blue Matters]

So whats your birth name? Whats the difference between the real you
and your stage persona?

Hahaha, well my birth name is Michael George Powell so thats where the
George in my stage name comes from...Reefah comes from an old neighbourhood
nickname that I grew up with...ill leave the reasons why up to your
imagination :-)

There aren't to many differences between Michael Powell and George Reefah. I
would say that Michael Powell is the level head behind the animated George
Reefah. Its very easy for artists to loose their heads in this tornado we
call the music industry but as long as you have a level headed alter ego to
keep you grounded you should be aight. Thank god for Michael Powell
hahahahah...

How long have you been in the game?

I've been doing my thing since 2006...wouldn't say im a veteran just yet but
I've been around...Ive had my share of ups, and more ups...

What's your greatest accomplishment so far in life?

I've got to say my greatest accomplishment in my life is moving to NYC...I
kinda just quit my job, put everything out on the table and said I'm goin in
with this music thing full speed...and from there I went from staying in a
small studio space with my brother and his wife in brooklyn to finally
getting my own place Downtown with my best friend and business partner
@lynxzGC. This was by far the biggest mountain for me to climb and I did
it!!!! so im very proud to say that this is my greatest accomplishment so
far.

Tell me a little bit about yourself:
Interest(s)?

I really enjoy working actually. Goin out and finding new ways of getting
my music out is actually what I love doing more that anything else. Im a
huge football fan...GO VIKINGS!!!!! hahahahaha....but ya, hopping off a
plane, getting to the hotel room, rollin something up and vibin out to some
ill dub reggae before I party the night away is probably what I like doing
most outside of Pushing my music and watching football.

What's your ultimate goal in life?

My ultimate goal in life is to be able to eventually spend all of my time
and I mean "ALL" of my time with people i enjoy being around. Whether that
is with my best friends, or my wife, or my kids, or whatever...I just want to be
able to spend all of my time with people who I love to be around. Thats
all...If I can do this before I die, I will die a happy man...

What do you like most about being in the business?

The Challenge: I love "trying to make it" it feels amazing...Everyday you
wake up you never know what the day will bring. On so many occasions I've
went to bed saying "Wow, when I woke up this morning i had no idea that
would happen!!!" nothing makes me say that more than the music industry
does.

What's the thought process behind your works?
- from personal experience?

Umm...pen and a pad is essential...I'm not a fan of the blackberry memo
pad...the feeling just doesnt come out the same...or maybe I gotta see the
eye doctor...ahhhh either way...as long as i got a pen and a pad in the
studio im happy...and a lil sip of some St. Remy isn't a bad thing either
:-)

-mere creativity?

When it comes to creativity, I like to keep a 2 people around me in the
studio...The Producer, and My friend Marco Capo...The producer ususally
tells me musically what we need to get out of a record, and more often than
not I take their advice, Thats usually what we're paying them for anyways.
And Marco Capo who comes from an opposite musical background helps me keep
my listening audience as broad as possible. When i write, I try to tap into
the lovers of Hiphop, RnB, and soul which I do quite easily but Marco's
opinions allow me to still connect with lovers of Rock, Pop, and Dance music
which is a bit more difficult for me to do on my own.

What inspires and motivates you?

My business, My label, My best friend Marco Capo, and Obama...Those 2
things and those 2 people motivate me everyday!!!!! They remind me that no
matter how hard things may seem...anything is possible!!!!!!!

How was life changed for you since being you started as a rapper?

It only changed when i moved to NYC. It was at that point when I became
George Reefah 24/7...before that it was easy for me to fall into everyday
Michael Powell life, Now im so George Reefah 24/7 that im George Reefah
2247...hopefully yall get that one... :-)

What would you be doing now, if you never started doing music?

*Hahahaha... fixing light fixtures on a high rise construction project
somewhere in Toronto Canada maybe...I was doing my electrical apprenticeship
before I started rapping full time...

What are you listening to in your ipod these days?

Wow...I love this question...Blakroc defiantly, some old school Tricky,
Massive Attack, Sneaker Pimps, The Blueprint 3 too!!!! Im a big Dub Reggae
guy too!!!!*

Why?

*To me these albums and artists right now teach me the most about the
creation of my project I guess...*

What has been your favorite job you've done so far?

Hahahaha...Rapping By a Mile

Does any negativity from the media ever affect you in anyway?

Not at all, Ive been blessed to have all positive media exposure up until
this point, hopefully i can keep that going over the span of my career!!!*

Any advice for those looking to pursue their dreams?

Get ya money up!!!!!...This business is no different than if you had dreams
of opening up your own restaurant, or opening up your own construction
business or whatever. Most artist are entrepreneurs deep down inside, and
the best way to capture your dream, in my eyes...is to get your start up
capital up...once you do that, the rest is easy...just do you!!! people
will...and I mean "WILL" catch on!!!!!

What do you want to be remembered by?

I'm in the process of creating that answer, it'll take me a few years to be
able to truthfully answer that question...one things for sure...Im definatly
on the right path to truthfully answering that question!!!!*

Anything else you would like the world to know about you?

Ummm...nahh you pretty much covered it...just say stay in touch with ya
boy Reefah...im at myspace.com/georgereefah, twitter.com/greefah and
www.georgereefah.com its been a blast people...Ill talk with ya'll soon!!!!*

Thanks for adding more significance to Why Blue Matters

Thank you again

WBM Features: Aspiration For More

So this afternoon, I'm sitting down watching the VH1 Soul Channel with my mother and came to this realization with her. We often wondered why with most videos there's this over glamorized and distorted vision of contemporary songs. What ever happened to creating ideas, themes, thoughts around the actual song itself? Visual Arts and Entertainment it seems has taken a hard right and gotten a little lost. At any rate, I dug in the past for something creative to share with you. I thought this was rather impressive. Enjoy.

A strong passion for any object will ensure success for the desire of the end will point out the means.
-William Hazlitt

Growing up we've had aspirations, some of which included being teachers, doctors, lawyers, astronauts, presidents, businessowners, athletes, and singers. Now whether we're in pursuit of them or not, many of us still have these aspirations and are just awaiting the right opportunity if given the chance to acheive such passion.

As for one young New York native, her passion isn't just something she wishes she could pursue. Veronica chooses to go after her desires to with a goal in mind. Success is what she continues to strive for and acting is what she ultimately sees herself very much involved in. How does she plans to get that point? Modeling. WBM Features: Will's Wisdom

This video was brought to my attention by a great friend of mine with whom I exchange many a conversation about life and experience. So it's only appropiate, that if I don't do anything else this year that I share this with you. I've come to realize in order to become a master one must first be a student.

True mastery comes from being able to not only understand what you experience but act in such a way that it allows you to become more proactive and less reactive. Will Smith is a true master of life and has literally learned, observed, believed, and worked his way into purpose.

Partake in some of his wisdom, develop some of your own and grow.

WBM Music: Alicia Keys Brings A Great Element (Of Freedom) To Music

http://www.aliciakeys.com (official web page)

Alicia Keys has never disappointed. So I have high hopes for her latest album "The Element of Freedom". Right off the back "Love is Blind" opens a set and shows so much growth musically and vocally. When I first heard track three "Doesn't Mean Anything," it took awhile to grow on me and now I love it. I wouldn't have picked it to be the first single cause it doesn't represent the album in whole. "Try Sleeping With a Broken Heart" is one of those songs that won't go away and will be on radio and video for a long time. It quickly became on my fav. Alicia Keys songs.

Lyrically this is some of her best work to date, she's opened up a lot and tries new things vocally. "Like the Sea" "Un-thinkable (I'm ready)" are worthy mentions. Alicia has been able to capture some elements of the 80s and incorporate with her latest sound. I think I would have enjoyed "Put It in a Love Song" with Beyonce on the track. She (Beyonce) holds back a great deal from her usual vocal delivery. "Distance and Time" is one of those tracks you can throw on when your having a bad day.

Element of Freedom came out a good time, the winter season. You can throw it on and warm up to a nice fire. Find a good cuddle buddy and enjoy yourself. It's a very mellow album, no club bangers, it ends with a stripped version of "Empire State of Mind." True Alicia Keys fans will enjoy this album. She's always had that crossover appeal and didn't disappoint.

Candy Couldn't Get More Sweet

Our thoughts create our reality-- where we put our focus is the direction we tend to go.
-Peter McWilliams

As we developed into who we are and what we would like to become, our minds during that process were significantly influenced. Whether by our peers, parents or role models, we had, and probably to this day, this idea of the who's who, the what's what, and how it relates to our perception of the world.

For one focused-minded young woman from Philadelphia, PA, the vision of who she is and what she wishes to become is quite clear. Candisha Hickman, or Ms. Candi as I know her is a very success driven model and singer with goals to reach. Here with WBM, Candisha gives some more insight into what she's all about, where she's from and what the future holds.

[As Told To Why Blue Matters]

So tell me a little bit about yourself:

Well My name is Candisha “Candi” Hickman and I’m a model and singer

Interest(s)?

Some of my interest are modeling, singing (have some songs I‘m working on), dancing, I’m a huge basketball fan, I love video games, especially vintage games like Mario Bros., Sonic, and Mortal Kombat, I’m a big kid, I’m a cartoon fanatic, I’m a sneaker head and shoe freak, I’m a tech head, and I’m really into graphics

Where from?

I was born and raised in Philadelphia, PA

How did you get started in modeling?

I first got interested in modeling when I was in high school. I was in my cosmetology class and we had a speaker coming in to talking about modeling for some reason, it caught my attention, and shortly after I enrolled in modeling school. After I finished I didn’t really take it to seriously cause I felt like I was wasting my time, about 2 years ago I hooked up with a modeling team and realized that this is really what I want to do, next to singing modeling is my passion. So every since I’ve been going hard and handling my business.

What do you like most about the industry?

I love meeting different people in the industry and hearing their different success stories. I try to take a little bit out of each story, wither good or bad, and try to learn from it and hopefully follow the blue print to success and learn from others mistakes.
What makes you stand out from the rest?
I’m not afraid to go outside of the box, what some others may refuse to do I’m absolutely not. I like to try new things and explore different artistic ideas.

What's makes you smile?

Having a good time with good friends and family makes me smile, watching a Kevin Hart special (lol), good food, good drinks, shopping, oh and Chris Paul (lol, j/k)

What's one thing, people wouldn't normally consider you doing?

Playing basketball, every time I tell someone I used to play in high school they always say the same thing “I cant see you doing that, you look to girly to play ball” I wasn’t always a girly girl, lol

How important are credibility and integrity to you?

Credibility and integrity is extremely important to me, its very hard to find those qualities in a person in this industry. I try my best to surround myself with people who are trustworthy and honest. Its not only important for the people around me to be that way but for me to maintain those qualities as well.

What would you be doing if you weren't doing what you do now?

I would either be a graphic designer or a video game developer.

Biggest Accomplishment?

So far, doing the Meek Millz “Make em Say” video, the Miskeen Fashion show, and the biggest recently is starting my own entertainment company, which I just merged with a company based out of Atlanta called Megabuck ENT. We have pop, hip-hop, and R&B artist, fashion designers, engineers, drummers, guitar players, and a number of other talents.

Where do you see yourself 5 yrs from now?

Five years from now I would have graced the cover of KING and Complex magazine, and have at least one number one Pop/R&B hit on the charts

Any future projects?

Right now I’m working on a few songs, I’m actually going into the studio within the next few days to lay some tracks down, I’m working on promotions for different events such as the Hot 97 ski trip and a few other things, and I’m working on my up and coming fashion show/showcase. Really excited about that. Also I’m looking to get involved in more on screen and print work.

What type of impact would you like to leave?

I would like for everyone to look at me as a hard worker and go getter, someone who never backed down from a challenge, I want later on down the line for young girls to look at me and say “I want to be like Candi, I want to do the things she did.”

Any advice for those who want to pursue their modeling aspirations?

Stay focused, if modeling is the career you want you have to stay focused and grounded. Get your face out there, no matter how small or little the job may seem look at every opportunity as a chance to network to get you bigger and better jobs. This industry is all about getting noticed. If you call yourself a model, when you walk out in the street you should look like one at all times, no matter if your wearing stilettos or Nike’s. work on your walk and you facial expressions, the right expressions could make or break a good photo. And most important you have to hustle.

Soleful

Dancing with the feet is one thing, but dancing with the heart is another.
-Anonymous

If to dance is to dream, then our next feature makes every dream of hers come true with the completion of each step. Faith coupled with her willingness and desire to follow her heart, allows Belizean native, Vania Reneau to create masterpieces out of her choreographed movements. With already much accomplished globally, Vania is just showing how she really moves.

[As Told To Why Blue Matters]

What Would You Do If You Weren’t A Dancer?

I would be a stylist, interior decorator, a party planner, and/or personal assistant. All of the above I do in addition to my dance career. I love to explore all options.

Where Do You See Yourself 5 Years From Now?

It’s hard to determine the future because timing is everything with God. I see myself breaking the barriers of modern day choreography. I have been creating choreography, video treatments, and staging concepts in my head since I was a child. There’s no doubt in my mind that I wasn’t blessed with my talent for a reason. In the next 5 years, I plan on working with real artist, real musicians, and humble talent. But most of all I want to fulfill God’s purpose.

Any Future Projects?

There is a new Disney Movie soon to be released that I choreographed a portion of. Stay tuned for the details on the title, I can’t reveal that quite yet. I just recently choreographed the new Ms. Triniti music video. She is signed to EMI JAPAN and is all over the overseas charts. Also look out for the hottest new male group “O.N.E” soon to be released this year. They are amazing vocalist, dancers, and performers and I have a strong belief in their success.

What Type Of Impact Would You Like To Leave With Your Involvement in Dance?

I’d like to leave a memorable impact on this industry. A lot of choreographers do work for the check and forget about the art. I promised myself I would only accept jobs that compliment my creativity and will assist me in creating those memorable performances. One of my biggest inspirations is Michael Jackson. I noticed MJ only worked with people who enhanced his vision. I also want to go back to my country and somehow offer them the opportunities to enjoy the performing arts.

Any Advise To Those Looking To Pursue The Art?

My only advice is to only pursue the art you truly love. Don’t become something your not or reach for a goal you’re not inspired by. This industry isn’t easy but if you’re in it whole heartedly, success is never ending. Strive to be the best and be thankful for your opportunities, big or small. Never allow others around you to distract or discourage you, because you hold the key to your success.

Album Review Vs Gucci Mane

Gucci Mane is the GO TO man for 2009. From his collaborations with Mariah Carey to Teairra Mari just to name a few, there isn't a track he hasn't been featured on. His latest release, THE STATE VS Radric Davis is pretty official. The album starts off with an honest intro titled "Classical."

The song "Heavy" opens the album then leads into a collabo with Lil Wayne and Cam'ron called "Stupid Wild." From then on Rick Ross, Soulja Boy, Usher make appearances on this bass heavy album. The softer side of Gucci can be heard on the song "I Think I'm In Love" and "Bad Bad Bad" featuring Keyshia Cole which is screraming to be the next single to be released of fthe album.

The album's interludes are comical and overall pleases hip-hop and r&b music listeners. The subject matter isn't anything that we haven't heard before, but we see life through Gucci's eyes. He'll be heard playing in cars for a long time to come. This album is a great effort into solidifying Gucci as a super star.

Brown's Graffiti Shows He's Here To Stay

I can't judge Chris Brown the person the same as Chris Brown the artist. With that said, we'll move forward with his third album, Graffiti's review. With the release of the albums first single "I Can Transform Ya," it didn't perform as well as the label would have liked, but the same problem, interestingly enough plagued his second album with the single "Wall To Wall" which didn't help push units.

The second song on Graffiti called "Sing Like Me" really shows vocal growth for Chris. Another great single "Crawl" also has singer Cassie in the music video, shows the softer side of Chris, the Chris Brown that we're used too. You can't help but wonder if some of the songs on Graffiti are about Rihanna.

The album is filled with mid tempo ballads. One that stands out in particular, is "So Cold" which features Esther Dean in the background singing and produced by Polow Da Don. "What I Do" features rapper Plies in a forgettable collaboration. "Famous Girl" produced by Ryan Leslie would have been more suited for Ryan then Chris. On the other hand, a slow jam that's going to get a lot of play time in the bedrooms is "Take My Time" which features Tank.

There's a few fillers like "Iya" and "Pass Out" which is a revamped more techno filled song similiar to his prior hit "Forever" from his previous release. The song "Wait" featuring Trey Songz and The Game is screaming to be released to the clubs. In my opinion, the album ends on a good note with the songs "Fallen" and "I'll Go."

Overall "Graffiti" will keep Chris's fan base happy, but musically there's nothing exciting going on here. I guess the saying "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" can be said for this album. I expected more but I guess he has to play it safe to continue to reshape his image.

Eye Candy Couldn't Be More Sweet

"Love of beauty is Taste. The creation of beauty is Art."
-Ralph Waldo Emerson

If the above quote is at least half true, what our next featurette, Owner/Stylist Lauren Moore of Eye Candy Beauty Studio makes available to the fashion and beauty communities is something truly extraordinary. She has the vision coupled with an insatiable passion for bringing the inner most beauty of her clients outward.

In an interview with WBM get closer look as to what makes Eye Candy so sweet.

[As Told To Why Blue Matters]

So tell me a bit about yourself?
Where are you from?

I am originally from Brooklyn, NY to the Hampton Roads Area of Virginia.

Interest(s)?

I have an interest in a lot of different things, it is so hard to choose just one; but I am a lover of music, writing, fashion and animals.

Explain for those who may not know what you do for clients.

I am a makeup artist and hair stylist. For EyeCandy Beauty Studio I assist models with building their portfolios. I also work along with photographers and A.J Supreme assisting models out of the Hampton Roads area get their foot in the door and assist them with getting exposure. We have a monthly feature titled “Supreme Candy”; a co- lab of both our businesses.

What’s your perspective on beauty?

As my motto goes for EyeCandy “Every woman is beautiful” my perspective on beauty is that a person that is truly beautiful comes from within. A person could be physically attractive but if they have a bad, negative or vain attitude that distracts from their physical beauty. I like my clients to look and feel beautiful and to know that the true definition of beauty does not reside with a size 2. To me beauty is when I am finished styling my clients and the look on their face when I am done; the glow and the smile they get warms my heart. It is like they have looked at them for the first time and say “Wow!” As they pose in the mirror and their self confidence is on high…that is beauty; a person’s completeness with themselves.

What do you like the most about being involved in fashion and beauty?

To touch on my last statement of my perspective of beauty is my favorite part of the industry making people look and feel their best. I love people to say “Thank you, I love it or I look pretty!” I also look and tell my clients that they look beautiful. I just love to make people feel good and I like to transform them.

How long have you been involved?

I have been involved in the industry for 5 ½ years. I started with Mary Kay and I wanted to do more hands on with clients which then transcended to working with a popular makeup line to Salons & Spas to freelance and now a growing business.

How important are relationship and credibility in what you do?

Very Important!! Even if you have nothing your name and reputation is all you have especially in this industry. My primary clients are from referral or word of mouth. So I make sure that my rapport and business relationships are very open and pleasant. If something happens out of my control I try to be innovative and creative to fulfill my obligations. There is always a plan B; my client’s satisfaction is very important to me.

What inspires and motivates you?

Certain people in my inner circle like my close family and friends that always give me sound reasoning and advice. They also encourage me to stay balance and to keep going when I’m feeling low or when the haters arise.

Biggest accomplishment?

My biggest accomplishment is more on a personal level. My son was born extremely early. I was five months pregnant when he was born. At birth he was only 1lb. Through all of the trails, sickness, surgeries and drama, I am proud to say not only did I make it but only made it with the help of God and my family. The day I got my son ready for his first day of school was most defiantly a blessing.

What would you do if you weren’t involved with what you’re doing currently?

I would probably still be working in the Banking and Financial industry as a Financial Advisor for New York Life. I previously worked there holding my Life and Health License. I would also be trying to get my licensure in brokerage.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

In five years I hope that EyeCandy will be a household and brand name and would be working with TV/Film doing my artistry.

Any Future Projects?

Yes there are future projects AJ Supreme and I have a surprise coming up in April 2010 for the aspiring model out there. VERY BIG! I will definitely keep you updated with the information as the project comes together. Also we are looking to release a calendar for our Supreme Candy models in 2011.

What type of impact would you like to leave with EyeCandy Beauty?

I would like people to know that EyeCandy is a diverse company that follows their motto that “Every Woman is Beautiful”. Creating and advocating positive self esteem in teens and woman of all ages.

Any advice for those looking to pursue their business and styling endeavors?

Do your homework! Even if your talent is stellar make sure to do your research on the business end. Keep up to date with trends and new business law. Also if you decide to start your business with a partner make sure that you really know them and their intentions. Remember there is never an “I” in team, keep open communication and keep your affairs and agreements in writing.

How far would you go to hustle for your dreams?

The Gift of Song

If there was ever a time where you had doubts about your talents and abilities, use this opportunity as a moment to take charge of your life and guide your steps in the right direction toward your goals and dreams.

According to some wise words was once told to me, your gifts make room for you; and ever since I had the chance to see Susan Boyle, from Britain's Got Talent, the gift of song from her truly has opened up the minds and nuzzled its way into the hearts of many internationally, making enough room to have the world as her stage.

Interestingly enough, in recent news Susan Boyle's LP "I Dreamed a Dream" debuted this week at No. 1 selling a phenomenal 701,000 units while at the same time having the biggest one-week sale total to date for 2009. Amazing!!!

My recommendation, share your gifts and talents, you have no idea the room you can make for yourself.
