Flowers

There are flowers everywhere, for those who bother to look. -Henri Matisse

I've come across a field of the most beautiful flowers the mind and eyes have yet to perceive. However to understand the field, one must first understand the flower. The field that I make mention of in a metaphorical sense is the blog That's What She Said and the flower(s) are the ladies that contribute to make That's What's She Said such a phenomenal and insightful read.

That's What She Said consists of the contributions of Chantel J. and 7 of her closest friends. Within the posts of this blog readers are not only able to get a glimpse into the lives, hearts and minds of these 8 remarkable women, but they also have the opportunity to have a magnified look into the female perspective.

With thoughts of changing the blog world, the ladies of That's What She Said have posted their thoughts since the day after the inauguration of President Obama. According to Chantel J., one of the contributors," I love the freedom to write about anything. It's cathardic." With 100% real content and experiences, the inspiration and motivation behind That's What She Said are the lives of its contributors.

"I tell people if you ever want to see how girls really feel/think check out our blog. It's not just a relationship blog, but it has relationship content," Chantel says.

Leading By Example

If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more, you are a leader.
-John Quincy Adams [6th President of the United States]

Ever since Krys Ivory can remember talking, the arts, especially music has been a part who she is. She lives it, she loves it and most importantly it emits from her being in such a way it's not difficult to sense there's something so remarkable about this young woman. Krys Ivory is so remarkable that when asked about the steps she plans to take over the next few years, "I see myself being a name that motivates young hearts. I want to become a leader for young women to look at and say, I can make it without compromising myself," Krys replies. However, for those of you who may not be familiar, Krys Ivory (singer/songwriter) of California with her single, " Be Next 2 Ya" is the most recent artist to join Ryan Leslie's Next Selection Lifestyle Group.

Discovered by Rasheed Richmond of Next Selection Lifestyle Group on Myspace and brought to Amerycan Studios in Hollywood, CA where Ryan Leslie recorded, Krys had the opportunity to sing a little something for him [R-Les]. "Next thing I knew, I had recorded a whole song with him! And over the course of the next few weeks Ryan offered me to join Next Selection Lifestyle Group," she says.

Although life keeps her occupied, God motivates her actions, so when not singing and songwriting Krys stays creatively busy by writing short stories, painting and drawing. "I like the fact that I can express myself in a healthy way. It's my therapy. I love it!" Krys explains. So if creativity is her therapy, it's safe to say when Krys channels her efforts and energy into her artistic sessions the listener undoubtedly has the opportunity to benefit just as much.
Regardless of if the benefit comes from the delight of healthy expression or the reception of healthy expression by others, it takes quite an example; especially by those who allow themselves to. Krys Ivory is a phenomenal young lady who with ease, inspires and motivates with her talent and ability expressing herself in such a way one can't help but to welcome all she brings forth.

Seeing Success

The first and most important step toward success is the feeling that we can succeed.
-Nelson Boswell

Although relative to the person obtaining the outcome of his or her desire, success by no means is something to take lightly. Passing a test, getting a date, stepping closer to dreams/goals and overcoming adversity are just a few examples of success. However, to attempt success or even become successful, it's important to have, at the very least some kind of idea of what we would like to accomplish. So with that in mind, what does success mean to you?

For one 20yr old (model/student) Sydney, Aussie, success means a significant amount. When most would fold or give up, Mariah D. or "M" as I know her turned her tragedy to triumph or her lemons to lemonade given the setback she faced at 16. Instead of completely giving in, "M" used the adversity of homelessness coupled with her incompletion of school to turn her life completely around. With a goal in mind and success within reach, "M" took a University entrance exam and to make a long story short, by the end of this year she'll be college graduate with a Psychology degree.

Standing against the odds while at the same time inspired by it, "M" plans to actively help children in her community, pursue her education further and time permitting get in a few model shoots as well.

Design of the Times

An artist cannot fail; it is a success to be one.
-Charles Horton Cooley

Success isn't something that's foreign to graphic artist and Florida native, Lady Millzz. In fact, everytime she sits to create, Lady Millzz not only aids in her own progression, but she also assists in the progression of others with her artistic vision.

Although heavily involved for only 3 years,
Millzz has had an interest in graphic arts since her teens. She loves the freedom that she has of putting anything she thinks of into a design. Pretty much anything that revolves around design work and creativity is what's of most interest. However when taking a break from graphic arts, "I also love being home watching movies or just relaxing in general. I also like to write a lot when I'm feeling a certain way, usually its after a long day when i have soo much going on in my head..preferably to music or just poetry in general," she says.

In addition to doing freelance work,
Millzz is also the Art Director for V Georgio Vodka. V Georgio Vodka is expected to be the next big beverage since Grey Goose. Interestingly enough, her talent doesn't stop and start with just graphic design. Millzz within the next 5 years plans to put her creative faculties to work and launch her music career. Ladies and gentlemen, keep your eyes and ears out because it's only a matter of time before Lady Millzz hits close to home.

If a woman is sufficiently ambitious, determined and gifted - there is practically nothing she can't do.
-Helen Lawrenson

Limitless she is indeed and as you watch this video response, you can't help but sense the charismatic personality and passion of Alix B. exude outward. Taking a few moments out to show some love to Why Blue Matters, Alix B. gives much if not all of herself to allow others to get a glimpse into the life, time and mind of her.

Get inspired.
