Understanding and Creativity

When I really think about it, the real reason why blue matters, I can't help but think about all the lives creativity affects and in some way, shape, form or fashion causes you and I, to develop creative ideas of our own. Whether independent or dependent of our environment and experiences, creativity impressed upon us or expressed through us creates the opportunity for a higher level of understanding.

We can make quite the difference within ourselves and potientially others if we take a moment to become more aware of what happens internally to make more sense of the external events; good and/or bad that take place in our everyday lives. The soonest we catch this the better. Recognition of such occurances and processed by our creative faculties could initiate a "pay it forward" movement that changes current perceptions of the world, may it be our own or the perception of another.

Here's a vid of the future recognizing itself in the present though the voice of a young poet.

Enjoy.

Picture Perfect

If a picure's worth a thousand words, can I paint you a picture?
-Epiphany Blue

How often is it that we have the opportunity to do the things that we really enjoy? If you can answer yes that, and honestly, you're a step beyond contentment and one closer to fulfilment. I mean, really, how many people find joy in the lives he or she pursues? Probably not many.

We get caught up, most of the time in the things we don't take much pleasure in. Whether that's work, school or whatever, I'm sure there was a moment or moments where something just felt, missing. (I know I've had my moments.) Think about it, when's the last time you've done what you've really wanted or follow the direction your heart pulls you toward? I know there're some dreams we've all wanted to chase and some things we've all wanted to strive for.

Interestingly enough,
Zai Aragon, a good friend of mine with whom I recently had the chance to get reconnected guides her steps in a way much different than most. Utilizing her heart as her compass, and the camera as her eyes, Zai travels the world capturing life in such a remarkable fashion.

Her photography: breathtaking, amazing, vivid, and eye-catching to say the least.

Sign Language

In art, the hand can never execute anything higher than the heart can inspire.
-Ralph Waldo Emerson

While editing and uploading some footage for Why Blue Matters, I happened to stumble upon this vid. The creativity, to say the least, behind this clip is beyond exceptional. Even in its simplicity, one can't help but sit there and observe in awe. Whatever is in the heart of the person that created this is truly amazing. By watching vids like this, I'm inclined to think that there's no limit to our creativity.

Definitely an inspiration.

And for the music heads, this is the song that inspired the single "Stronger" by Kanye West. Listen about 2 minutes into the vid, you'll hear something very familiar.

On a side note, I'd like to pose a challenge. I'd like everyone to proactively pursue and expand his and her creativity ability.

You never know where your thoughts will lead you next.

Star Gazing

Real elation is when you feel you could touch a star without standing on tiptoe.
-Doug Larson

That quote is so serious. However, what's interesting are the thoughts you'll have, especially those about the people you come in contact with after reading this. Ideally what I'd like you to think about is perception of a different sort. Often people, specifically those that care about our well-being and the choices we make in life suggest possessing a vision or mindset to attain the very thing or things we desire. This usually is expressed in a number of ways, but what stands out most is: "Reach for the stars."

What happens though when a star reaches back to you?

I frequent the Urban Jook Joint, a venue in the Village near Union Square, Manhattan every last Friday of the month. A phenomenal venue to say the least, that advocates the arts as conversational offerings to those in attendance. To make a long story short, this past month I was fortunate enough to observe the All-Ladies Open Mic in celebration of Women's Month.

Now mind you, it was a great experience filled with many a conversational offering, but I must say I saw a star that evening in the city. This star reached back with her words and touched the audience spiritually, mentally and emotionally with her soulful delivery. Without the accompaniment of instruments, Lacresha Berry utilizes hand claps, soul snaps and heartbeats to keep the tempo.

Lacreasha impressed upon me the love of what she does best, and that's reach out to others . That to me is so inspiring.
Yet another reason WHY BLUE MATTERS...

YESSSSS!!!!

Most times, getting caught up in day to day or the routine of what life presents, people seek out different means of entertainment just to get away from the here and the now. Even if that's mentally, physically, spiritually, emotionally or a combination of the four, entertainment comes in many forms and addresses our wants and needs at that time. Now whether that's in the form of movies, books, video games, television shows, and/or music to name a few, that's entirely up to the individual.

However, should your ideas run bone dry, music entertainment has something fresh, new and exciting to offer. Kwab aka Y.e.S! (Your Entertainment System) emcee from New Jersey, approaches the genre of hip hop with a vision far beyond he stands. He views the world and his music with the future in mind. With a next century vibe and sound, Y.e.S! not only gives the listeners joints to rock out to, but also keeps them wanting more with his witty yet conversational delivery that makes for some official storytelling to say the least.

With bangas such as Rewind That ft. Epiphany Blue, Talk My Shhh..., Heart Are Racing and his most recent track, So Crazy you're guaranteed to sense right away what ears have been missing out on.

Why Blue Matters...?

According to a recent scientific study, the brain reacts differently to colors. More importantly, how the brain responds to the color blue is rather interesting. Studies suggest the color blue sparks creativity.
