That quote is so serious. However, what's interesting are the thoughts you'll have, especially those about the people you come in contact with after reading this. Ideally what I'd like you to think about is perception of a different sort. Often people, specifically those that care about our well-being and the choices we make in life suggest possessing a vision or mindset to attain the very thing or things we desire. This usually is expressed in a number of ways, but what stands out most is: "Reach for the stars."
What happens though when a star reaches back to you?
I frequent the Urban Jook Joint, a venue in the Village near Union Square, Manhattan every last Friday of the month. A phenomenal venue to say the least, that advocates the arts as conversational offerings to those in attendance. To make a long story short, this past month I was fortunate enough to observe the All-Ladies Open Mic in celebration of Women's Month.
Now mind you, it was a great experience filled with many a conversational offering, but I must say I saw a star that evening in the city. This star reached back with her words and touched the audience spiritually, mentally and emotionally with her soulful delivery. Without the accompaniment of instruments, Lacresha Berry utilizes hand claps, soul snaps and heartbeats to keep the tempo.
