WBM Features: KB Klicks

Photography takes an instant out of time, altering life by holding it still.
-Dorthea Lange

Opportunity isn't something that one should wait to happen. For all we know, it could be taking place right now and because we're anticipating an indicator of some sort to tell us that this particular moment is what we've been waiting for, we ultimately end up missing out on so much. On the other hand, for those aware that opportunity is the result of our experience and what we make and/or take of how we respond to what happens around us success is nearby.

For one young lady from the mid-west, opportunity isn't something that she just waits around to happen--she makes it happen. And for KB Klicks, success is brought that much closer to her every time she captures a moment with her camera.

Taking the opportunity to see what the world is like through her eyes, WBM had a chance to have a one on one with Keonna Boone and discuss how if even one frame at a time she plans to impact the world.

[As Told To Why Blue Matters]

Who is KB Klicks?

I am a 25 year old emerging photographer and I developed my love for photography while attending Saint Louis University. I’m an avid photographer who has turned a hobby into a full-time endeavor. I am also the founder of K.B.Klicks Photography (www.kbklicks.com) and blogger behind strEAT ART (http://streatart.tumblr.com/).

I am a granny’s girl who is unapologetically outspoken with a huge heart.

I’d always desired to be an attorney, even as a child. The older I got and the more education I obtained, I realized I was increasingly displeased with the Justice system. I decided that I could not live my life on a chance that I may have to defend a guilty criminal who’s undeservingly set free or prosecute and send to jail (or death) the innocent. The weight of the matter was too heavy for me and while coming to terms with the fact that I may not become what I always thought I’d be, it took a while for it to dawn on me that a great deal of my time was being willingly spent in the photo lab.

I eventually realized what I really wanted to do with my life.

Where are you from?

KB Klicks: Born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri.

Interest(s)?

KB Klicks: Besides photography, my interests include the following: God, life, my granny, my happiness, my career, music, family & friends, movies, art, law, social issues, intelligent conversation, graffiti, being in love w/ love (in that order).

Explain for those who may not know what you do for clients

KB Klicks: I will photograph almost anything for clients. I’m quite shutter happy. I currently photograph urban candids, in addition to portraits, conferences, and weddings.

What's your perspective on photography?

KB Klicks: It’s not always about what is seen on the surface. I always photograph by Aristotle’s concept: “The aim of art is not to represent the outward appearance of things, but their inward significance.”

Photography, for me, is immortal and necessary for when memory fails us. Photography is absolutely essential…words can only express so much.

What do you like most about it?

KB Klicks: I enjoy the entire process of photography. I love the creativity and passion that goes into a photograph. What I love most is the moment when I realize I’ve hit the mark and obtained what I set out to capture. It’s a satisfying and exhilarating feeling.

How long have you been involved?

KB Klicks: I’ve been actively involved in photography going on 3 years now…

What kind of camera do you shoot with?

KB Klicks: I shoot with a Canon AE-1, Canon EOS REBEL XS DSLR, and occasionally a Canon EOS 50D DSLR

What did you do before becoming a photographer?

KB Klicks: I was a college student and my time mainly consisted of school and working for the University as an office assistant, but I always managed to fit photography into my busy schedule as a hobby.

How important is lighting with your work?

KB Klicks: Very important. It’s one of the main elements that can be the difference between a horrible photo and an amazing one. Granted, most lighting issues can be corrected with Photoshop but without the appropriate lighting the photo can lose its intended effect.

What inspires and motivates you?

KB Klicks: Sometimes it’s the little things. I’ll see a hidden location in a park I hadn’t noticed before; a child playing in a pond; shadow on a headstone. Someone may even say a word or a phrase that sprouts an idea for a photo. I really never know what is going to trigger an inspiration so I always keep a notepad and pen to document what I see in my head. I just keep an open mind and let it flow…

But I also found that fear, in the beginning, was a great motivator and inspiration. That may sound odd, but I had
such a great fear of failure and of disappointing my teachers and clients that it forced me to want to do better and be better at my craft. It forced me to look past what I thought was a perfect pretty picture and recognize the significance within it, even the flaws. I still get a little nervous before every shoot, but now my motivation is success and striving to achieve it with every photo.

Obviously, not everything needs such serious thought…and sometimes I enjoy being spontaneous. That too brings about magnificent images as well.

All of it has helped to make me who I am as a photographer.

Where do you prefer to shoot, in the studio or on location?

KB Klicks: Although the studio can provide a controlled environment, I actually prefer to shoot on location. Shooting in natural elements brings about a more authentic feel to the photograph for me.

What type of camera do you shoot with?

KB Klicks: Film (Canon AE-1) and DSLR (Canon EOS REBEL XS & Canon EOS 50D)

Biggest accomplishment?

KB Klicks: My biggest accomplishments (which all happened around the same time) so far have been:

This feature with Why Blue Matters is definitely a major accomplishment. It’s a God-send.

Working with DELUX Magazine (an urban magazine based out of St. Louis) has given me the opportunity to gain even more experience and exposure. I am quite grateful to Keith Griffin (owner) and the DELUX family for such an outstanding opportunity.

Being selected for The Photo Media Centers 2010 Exhibition

Honestly, any opportunity for my work to get exposure is a big accomplishment for me. I take nothing for granted, I consider it all a blessing and thank God for his continued favor and give thanks to those who take time out of their busy lives to view my work or consider for any opportunities. I am thankful.

Most significant accomplishment(s)?

KB Klicks: One of my most significant accomplishments was being chosen by my professor, at the time, to enter my work into a student art exhibition showcased by the University. My work was eventually chosen to be included in the showcase. This was the turning point for me because photography was not my major, yet my professor saw something in me that I had not acknowledged in myself – potential.

What would you do if you weren't involved with what you're doing currently?

KB Klicks: I’d find some way to incorporate photography into my life, even if I wasn’t in the field. Since my previous main focus was law, I’d definitely be an entertainment law attorney. Although, I haven’t quite given up that dream of one day having a law degree in that concentration…

Where do you see yourself 5 yrs from now?

KB Klicks: I hope that I’m either established in my career as a photo editor for a major magazine such as VOGUE or ELLE or as a successful freelance photographer. I would also like to have my work regularly exhibited in both local and international galleries.

I just want to be successful. No fame required.

Any future projects?

KB Klicks: I’m currently working on submitting my work to more exhibitions. I’m preparing to attend portfolio reviews in preparation for my return to school to obtain my B.A. (and eventually my M.A.) in Photography. If I happen to manage to obtain a J.D. in entertainment law along the way, I wouldn’t be mad about it…

What type of impact would you like to leave with your works?

KB Klicks: I hope my work revives or ignites a creative and passionate spirit within people; I hope that viewers of my work are able to live in the moment I’ve captured; and I hope my work impacts viewers in that it reminds them to have compassion and love for people in a world that doesn’t always deserve it.

Any advice for those looking to pursue their interest in photography?

KB Klicks: Do not take a career in photography lightly. It’s not just about clicking a shutter release button. Be prepared to have a thick skin…just because mom likes it, it doesn’t mean the industry will. Be your own worst critic and best supporter. If you’re honest with yourself, you’ll desire to put forth your best work and ultimately people will see it as well. Never lose your imagination and sense of creativity…It is life or death in this field. Be uniquely you…always.

WBM Features: Marshall Anthony

Dressing is a way of life.
-Yves Saint Laurent

Does man make the clothes or do the clothes make the man?

Neither. His thoughts do. And as for Darhel Anthony Mays II, starting his own business was something he has always aspired to accomplish from a young age. Interestingly enough, what his thoughts have allowed him is the development of Marshall Anthony, a company that specializes in bringing from the inside, out a phenomenal sense of personal style for today's gentleman.

So with some time to discuss how he got his start and what his company Marshall Anthony is all about, menswear designer Darhel Anthony Mays II welcomes us to his world for a few.

Take a closer look at how he designs life as he sees fit.

[As Told To Why Blue Matters]

Who is Darhel Anthony Mays II?

MA: I am a menswear designer, and neckwear craftsman.

Where are you from?

MA: I was born in California, but raised in Plainfield, New Jersey

What does fashion mean to you?

MA: Fashion for me describes a new york city street, and all the cabs are the latest trends. I am not very fond of fashion. I think to an extent is something that people run after and chase. I deal more in style. Style is something developed. It comes from within and represents uniquely, you.

How long have you been involved?

MA: The genesis of my menswear brand, Marshall Anthony, was in the fall of 2008. It was when I first started crafting custom bow ties in the privacy of my home. Overtime it has continued to evolve as a brand, and eventually will be fully comprehensive lifestyle brand. I would say the current stage is the exodus. Ha!

When did you know you wanted to pursue your own business?

MA: I wanted to have my own business since a teenager. It was something I always aspired to accomplish.

Explain the significance behind Marshall Anthony the name of your company?

MA: The name comes from a combination, it myself and my father's middle names. Darhel Marshall Mays Sr. & Darhel Anthony Mays II. Its like a dedication to his memory. He can live on through the name, as can I. I wanted something meaningful, but classy. A name that will outlive me.

What inspires and motivates you?

MA: I natural love for life. Its brings great fulfillment and joy to take something from an idea, and manifesting it into tangible accomplishments. I am builder by nature, so I am motivated by the climbing as well as reaching the summit.

What goes into the design of one of your pieces?

MA: I strive to take timeless style, and elegant pieces- and give them a modern update. To make classic pieces that transcend fashion trends and don't an expiration date.

What about the colors? Patterns?

MA: I like color, I like color a lot, the key is putting them together in a way that compliments, subtly. It is very easy to clash with colors and patterns.

What type of impact would you like to make with your works?

MA: To give gentleman renewed confidence. Classic dress, finding your personal style, and looking your best all aid in establishing self-confidence. A confident can person can do anything they set out to. I just hope Marshall Anthony can somehow aid in the process.

Any anyone you like to work with in the future?

MA: I have a host of brands and people whom I admire and would love to work with in the future. For now, I am more focused on establishing Marshall Anthony.

What do you do outside of fashion design?

MA: I like to travel, I'm set on getting out to see all parts of the world and observe different cultures and the beauty of God's creation.

What's next for Marshall Anthony?

MA: Shirting is the immediate. This spring I will be rolling out the MTM (made to measure) shirting line. It will be versatile and elegant shirts. Shirts you can wear from the boardroom, to Broadway and any stop in between. Also a lot visual media and editorial projects are in the works. I want to change the way menswear and clothing in general is presented to the public. And drill home what the Marshall Anthony brand is all about.

Any advice for those looking to pursue their fashion and business aspirations?

MA: Put the passion before the paycheck. The satisfaction is more derived from the former, not the latter.

WBM Features: Ariana Pierce

Impressive doesn't come anywhere close to describe our next WBM Feature. Exceptionally talented while at the same very much focused on success, we are very much honored and proud to introduce you to Ariana Pierce of Michigan. She's an entrepreneur, author, actress, singer and motivational speaker.

With some time to share with WBM, Ariana allows the world to know a little more about her. From her eco-friendly nail polish to happenings going on in and around entertainment and building her businesses, what Ariana speaks on is quite amazing. So for anyone looking go into business for him/herself or take where you are to the next level, then definitely hone in on what Ariana has to say. She's a wealth of knowledge, insight and inspiration.

Another reason Why Blue Matters.

WBM Album Review: Keyshia Cole "Calling All Hearts"

Keyshia Cole is back with a new album "Calling all hearts". This is her fourth album, I'm a big fan, but the last album was kind of hard to really like. I had high hopes for this one, considering she's engaged to be married and has a child and has more to sing about.

After a few listens, this album didn't do much for me. Yes, it'll grow on me and I'll eventually like it but it feels a little rushed and just thrown together. Her voice sounds different, not as powerful.

Love and perseverance should have been the name of the album. Most of the tracks are based off those two subjects.

A stand out is a song with Tank, and a duet with Faith which finds the two singing over Biggie’s ‘Warning’ beat. Keyshia does try something new with working with Timbaland. Maybe a new direction she's going into for the next album.

Overall it’s a decent album but not Keyshia’s best work. It does show a little personal growth but if they spent a little more time on it, it had potential to be great.

WBM ALBUM REVIEW: Keri Hilson "No Boys Allowed"

I remember hearing "Energy" for the first time, and fell in love with Keri Hilson. She transitioned herself from song writer to singer/performer. I couldn't wait for her debut album to come and it came and went. I wasn't disappointed but i wasn't thrilled either. There were a few hit tracks, but wasn't impressed with the live performances and everything that followed.

Then a few years later, I started hearing new material coming out for her second album. Nothing has grabbed me, nothing has caught my attention. It's all been either average to blah. So "No Boys Allowed" really did nothing for me.

This album will not push Keri to the next level amongst her class of singers. I see it actually feeling the sophomore slump. She is a much a better song writer then singer/performer in my opinion.

Don't get me wrong, she's talented and beautiful but its like she forcing sexy when it doesn't need to be forced. "No boys allowed" has a few features that usually you would look forward to or want to hear right away but nothing was impressive. Nothing seemed original or enjoyable. J.Cole, Chris Brown, Rick Ross, Nelly and Kanye West lend a hand on this project.

‘Breaking Point’ one of the singles has become a woman's anthem but didn't blow up like any of the other singles that were pushed in the last few weeks. I know Keri has it in her, and her third album will be a lot better.

If your looking for an album to throw on while your cleaning, or bored "No Boys Allowed" will be enjoyable, other than that its not one of those albums you have to have or listen to on the daily.

WBM Artist to Watch: Rudy Currence

" I always strive to set trends not follow them. Musically, I'm aspiring to be the rising tide that raises all ships. I want my songs to inspire other artists to be better. Someday I will change the world through music!"- Rudy Currence

Captivating lyrics, stunning looks, and miraculous stage presence all describe Disturbing the Peace/Def Jam’s new R&B/Soul artist Rudy Currence. I first met Rudy at Def Jam’s new artist showcase and was immediately drawn to him, his stage presence is like no other I have seen since Maxwell and John Legend. His soul speaks to you while he is performing each song, lyric, and piano key. If you meet Currence; his charming, well mannered, humble, and stunning looks will make you a fan for life.

The southern born Currence took out time to sit with WBM before his performance for Hot 97 Whose next live showcase at SOB’S.After sound check Currence appeared from behind his piano with a black leather jacket, grey sweatshirt and denim jeans. His curly hair was pulled back and he greeted me with a warm “hello” and hug. We went downstairs to start our interview. As I sat across from Rudy I realized he is one of the most graceful artists I have met in a long time. His eyes are big and brown complimented by dark, long lashes, his tone is very deep and calm, I will admit; Rudy was more relaxed then I was! Check out our fun interview below..Readers meet Rudy Currence the future of music….

WBM: What's your full name do you have a middle name?...

RC: Yea..laughs... Rudy Currence.. I don't like people knowing my middle name!!!

Chuckles but I will tell you this it’s Rudy Currence the third.

WBM: Oh wow Rudy Currence the third!? That sounds so distinguished! So when is your Birthday?

RC: February 2nd..I was born on groundhog day..

WBM: How old are you

RC: 24

WBM: Where are you from?

RC: rock Hill, South Carolina

WBM: What’ your favorite food?

RC: I love soul food..but I love Sushi ..my favorite is from back home its

called the Charleston Roll it has cream cheese in it;it’s great..

WBM: that's an interesting choice! What other food do you like?

RC: seaweed and squid salad .

WBM: Who are your biggest musical influences?

RC: My dad is a musician and a pastor ..my mom; my parents inspire me. and I'm the biggest Clark sister fan.

I love singer/songwriters who are innovative, I love what The Carpenters did,

Michael Jackson, Prince, Stevie Wonder, Quincy Jones. People who are trend setters the one’s who have set the bar for that generation.

WBM: how has your life changed since signing to Def Jam/DTP?

RC: I have had a lot of opportunities. It hasn't so much has changed but more

so expanded. I was independent before so I was use to doing shows, interviews

etc..The only thing that has changed is more national exposure. I was on 106 and

park for their music matters campaign, I did the view with Quincy Jones. This was more of a change. And opening for major acts. Now I have label mates like Chrisette Michele. It’s amazing I'm very excited!

WBM: Was your song "Last Christmas” based on a personal experience?

RC: Not so much a personal experience or romance...what I based the whole

Christmas EP on was classic christmas music. I wrote 3 songs and re-made 2

christmas carols.

WBM: How many instruments do you play?

RC: I play the piano, trumpet, organ, guitar, I sing…. I play so many.

WBM: Do you think that today’s music/artists affect the community and encourage kids and young adults to attempt the lifestyle they see in videos?

RC: Artists need to recognize that music is influential and powerful. What they do

will affect people. People look up to you. Especially kids, their like sponges they soak up everything. I also think that there is a shift in music. A lot of artists are getting back to getting back to really wanting to sing. There’s a yearning for good music and I'm glad to be a part of it. There are a lot of dope talented artists on the come up. My music is authentic and that's who I am,I always wanted to be a trendsetter. I hope that can rub off on others.

WBM: What's your favorite down time activity?

RC: pause * …SLEEP!!!! ..Laughs.. No I work a lot...but I'm simple,I was born in the country..in my down time I'm still doing music in some form.I like to bowl, spend time with family,go to church..I still play at my church when I’m home which I enjoy very much.

WBM: How do you plan to stay humble?

RC: A support system is key. It’s important that you keep the people around you who love you for you.

WBM: Your music speaks love..are you a romantic?

RC: you know what..I am a romantic. But you know what? Pause* God is love .. smiles

WBM: how do you plan to give back?

RC: I want to start a academy of music..and teach kids ALL aspects from theory to instruments..

I'm a big giver; I want to show the less fortunate that there’s more out there. Where I come from its pretty much black and white and pretty much segregated so I want to show people there's more things out there.

WBM: what's your relationship with Ludacris like?

RC: It’s good! He is very approachable, laid back and cool. That's the type of person I want to be.

WBM: What college did you go to?

RC: Furmen College, I majored in music..

WBM: What kind of student were you?

RC: A big geek like I am now!! chuckles But I was social , I did my own thing.

RC: Thanks to my fans for believing in me and supporting me;I always tell them they are the stars.. My mom and manager, dad, my brother aka Mykal Star and God the Almighty.

WBM BluePrints: Rudy Currence

Being Senior Correspondent for WBM has it's perks. Like meeting talented up and coming artists. I must admit I love my job. This picture is so funny; I was like a star struck teenager! Rudy is a really cool guy who is super easy to talk to. He has a huge heart and I am very happy I got a chance to meet him. Rudy now know's why blue matters. Good luck with everything in the future Rudy! I am 100% sure you will be the new "it" artist!

Omar Charles is an 18 year old who is looking to express himself to his fullest potential in creative ways, at least that is who I believe I am [laughs].

Where are you from?

OC: I usually tell people Toronto! (However, I was born in Grenada).

Interest(s)?

OC: Music is definitely my main interest and has been since I was around 13, however, I also like to blog (omar416.blogspot.com). I've been discovering more and more interests as I discover more people who are doing unique things in creative fields, so recently I've also taken an interest in photography (more specifically, lomography) and I've been fostering a growing curiosity about fashion since the age of 16.

What does music mean to you?

OC: "Music ain't just the world; it’s the universe to me". That’s something I wrote in a song by the way.

How long have you been involved?

OC: I've been involved in musical endeavors for about 5-6 years now.

When did you know that music was something that you wanted to pursue?

OC: Well I had played around with the concept of that for a few years and still did up until recently, so I suppose about 7 months ago I started to lean towards the idea of pursuing this as a serious career and not just a hobby that I didn't do anything with.

Do you play any instruments?

OC: I took up the guitar at the age of 16 in an attempt to substitute for a lack of access to a keyboard. I've been self-teaching myself ever since.

What inspires and motivates you?

OC: Musically, I get inspired and motivated by other producers...kind of in a competitive way. I'll hear something that I really like and think "wow, I've got to step it up" or "I really need to practice and learn how to do what they do". For example, one of my top 3 favorite producers, Ryan Leslie has all these videos up of him producing songs in studios and the energy you can observe from him and his music just radiates. It tells me that I can do this producing thing as long as I work REALLY hard at it, perpetually learn about the business and build connections.

Beats that I don't think are that great also have a similar affect. Few things make me want to produce more than beats that I think I can do better than (I know that sounds cocky and egotistic but I'm really not that kind of person, it’s just my competitive spirit).

I'm also really inspired simply by life. Just like how an artist can see something that gives them a vision or a feeling that they need to write about or put on a canvas, things that I see, hear and experience evoke emotions that I try to translate into instrumentals.

What producers do you look up to?

OC: J Dilla (had an amazing way with samples and capturing that rugged or smooth sound)

9th Wonder (Has one of the best ears for samples I've ever seen and was part of a group that fuels my love for hip hop)

Ryan Leslie (Not only is his music impressive, but his career and life as a whole is just something else. Major inspiration)

Pharrell Williams/N.E.R.D. (Creatively out of this galaxy in my opinion and philosophically a genius)

Afta-1 (He chooses the most unlikely sounds and instruments and constructs some truly amazing patterns and sequences. Love Is Real.)

Your production is impressive, what goes into the creation of your songs?

OC: I appreciate the compliment. My songs kind of come about in an odd fashion. Sometimes I'll just be playing around with sequences and samples when I make a song but then something will catch my attention and instantly a brand new idea for a pattern (or sometimes a completely finished instrumental) will pop into my head and I'll try to put it down. Honestly though, that is a process that could repeat itself perpetually until I come up with a song that I think is worth finishing. Other times I might just be humming a pattern or beat boxing something to myself and as I try to create what I've thought of, all the little details (percussion, riffs, extra melodies) will just come to me.

What program do you use?

OC: I've been using Fl Studio for a while. I just recently got the 9th edition. I plan to make a move to Reason and/or Pro Tools VERY soon though.

Working on any new projects?

OC: As of late I've been doing A LOT of production for a young Toronto rapper who goes by the name of Rob G.F.. He's incredibly dope and has a LOT of potential (I don't say that just because I produce for him either). He'll be releasing many mixtapes and you'll find most of my production strewn across them.

I'm also trying to put together a beattape that I plan to submit to MTV so they can have some free music for their shows. I think it’ll be a great opportunity to showcase my skills.

Lastly, since I was originally just a writer when I discovered my passion for music 5 years ago, I have tons of raps…like at least 4-5 years of 16+ bar verses, and I’m still an avid writer to this day. Because of that, the idea of releasing my own little lyrical showcase mixtape has been floating around, however I highly doubt that will come into fruition. I don’t wanna be a rapper. I would like to get into professional songwriting (or verse writing as I like to call it).

What are your thoughts on your success?

OC: So far I'm not quite sure what to make of it...it doesn't even really feel like success...at least not yet. I feel like I'm making progress but really I see everything that’s happening as a baby step towards a bigger goal. When I reach that goal, THAT is when I'll feel like I've achieved some real success.

Biggest Accomplishment?

OC: There are three that are tied for that title. The first accomplishment was a personal one, where I got the courage to go to a music industry conference almost 2 years ago for the first time all by myself. It was mad intimidating cause I was all alone, naïve (more than I am now) and surrounded by people who seemed establish and were sure that they wanted to do music. I’m REALLY proud of myself for doing it though. The second one would be having a music video shot for one of my beats (which can be found after this interview) at such a young age. Back in August , Rob G.F. shot a music video for “The Lowlights”. I know there are probably a quite a few producers younger than me that have accomplished this (probably multiple times) but I still feel that having something like that under belt before I even hit 20 years old is big. Lastly I scored a track on T.City ‘s debut mixtape “Olde English” which is an INCREDIBLY dope project T.City's Olde English Mixtape

What type of impact would you like to make with your music?

OC: With my music, I wanna do what others have done for me with theirs. Inspire people, give them something to listen to for whatever mood they feel. I don’t just want my music to feel like instruments, synths and samples all tied nicely together, I want it to feel like LIFE MUSIC.

Who have you worked with so far?

OC: Rob G.F. T.City, Tristian Corbin, Only Da Greatest (duo) and J.Bee. That’s the list so far.

Any anyone you like to work with in the future?

OC: Tons of artists. I’ve been trying to get beats to the likes of, Redway The Rapper Guy, Erik Flowchild, WolF J Mcfarlane, Curren$y (and the jets), Soulja Boy, Lil B and Mac Miller. I also have a beat waiting for The Cool Kids and I want to get a track out to Luu Breeze

What's next for Omar Charles?

OC: Life is so unpredictable so I’m not too sure, however, if things go swell within the next few months, you’ll be hearing MUCH MORE of my work.

Any advice for those looking to pursue their aspirations in music?

OC: One extremely important thing . Learn about the business. This is probably even more important than the music itself depending on how far you want to with it. If you produce, have a portfolio/track record before you even THINK about selling beats unless you have some kind of connection that permits that. If you are an artist WRITE AND PERFORM your @$$ off, especially the latter of those two. An internet buzz is nice, but its just that, an internet buzz. You need to show your face on stage if you really want respect and recognition (plus, you’ll make some nice pocket change once you really get into it, so all the more incentive to start rockin’ shows).
